How do you practice self-compassion?
Journaling, which I curiously resisted for years but ultimately found to be genuinely helpful and often revealing. Keep learning, keep growing.

Slowing down, stepping away, and taking some deep slow breaths when I feel stressed or overwhelmed. Never fails to regulate my nervous system. 💕💕 @womenandbalance
Learning to say “no.” If it’s going to stress me out, affect my health, mess with my calm, I have learned it’s ok to say “no,” and if people can’t understand that, then I probably don’t need them in my life. 🙂

When was the last time someone extended compassion to you?
An acquaintance reached out during my time of grief and loss, only to say “I’m listening and I’m here” and this was so little and this was everything. 🧡 Rachel M.
When I had to put my cat to sleep the veterinarian and the tech were so kind and loving to my kitty and me. Holly H.
I’m the grieving mother of an adult child lost to addiction. In 2023 my roommate suddenly informed me he was moving out. I couldn’t afford to live on my own and was planning to rehome my cat and then, y’know…cease to exist. Someone with a fairly weak connection to my family of origin reached out and I’m now living in another city in my tiny basement unit with my cat. I’m in school for my adult grade 12 diploma and thriving, because a stranger was compassionate. Wendy U.
Why is compassion important to you?
It’s where true life starts…and ends. @suki.mac
It makes me a better person, and when I see it in others I am encouraged. @3roldans
Does compassion have a place in political settings and decision making?
Should compassion be taught in schools?
Should compassion be centered in the workplace?
